Newhall Remediation Project

Meetings and Public Groups

Block Meetings

Beginning in February, the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has been holding weekly meetings with property owners within the Newhall Remediation Project area. The meetings have been organized on a block by block basis for DEP to explain how cleanup will occur, listen to concerns and answer questions. These sessions have provided an opportunity for neighbors to meet each other and to talk with DEP about how the cleanup may personally affect them, whether or not their property has waste on it. By the end of April, every property owner will have been invited to a meeting to discuss how cleanup will occur on their block.

Public Meetings held by the Department of Environmental Protection

The Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection has held numerous public meetings to inform the public about what was being done to investigate contamination in the Newhall neighborhood and listen to residents' concerns. Click here to read reports of public meetings.
